Complete Dell Asset Management By cowprince,  Apr 3, 2009 Fri Apr 03 20:37:56 GMT 2009

I as well as many others I'm sure use some sort of methodology when it comes to asset management.  It could be a database, maybe with a web front-end, a folder structure with random purchase documents, an excel document or any of a number of other methods to tracking your hardware.

What I would like to see is an all encompassing interface on the premier site.  Database with all purchases filtered a number of different ways, maybe on order number, on service tag, on the product itself.  I'd like to see online printable order documentation from beginning to end, the quote, the invoice and the packing slip.  I'd like for my lists to retain addable fields like you would see in an excel document so I could add the machine name if I changed it, maybe our company's asset tag, and who that computer was assigned to.

I do know that some of this exists, but it seems you need special Premier training to accomplish even getting a list of your purchases from X date to X date.

To finish this off, software purchases along with their product keys, order dates, and product names would be fantastic.

All of this along with the ability to export these lists/reports to excel/csv and maybe even pdf.

Any additions to this are quite welcome and encouraged.

ADMIN NOTE:  Thank you for your detailed comments.  Dell will continue to develop and enhance Premier with reporting features and capabilities, but please keep in mind that Premier is designed as a tool for procurement, and not as a scaleable, comprehensive, enterprise level-Asset Management solution.  Currently, there are several different report templates, each of which is downloadable in Microsoft Excel format.  Hopefully these different templates will provide you with the raw data you need to accomplish your asset management objectives.  In the meantime, your suggestions have been entered into our Enhancement Pipeline for consideration and possible future development.

Thanks again for using PremierStorm.

View Service Tags Online By lbreno742,  Jun 29, 2009 Mon Jun 29 19:16:10 GMT 2009

It would be helpful if we could view service tags online at the Premier site.  Currently I have to obtain paper copies of our invoices from our accounting department and manually enter the tags into our system - which is VERY time consuming!

ADMIN NOTE:  Service Tags are available in Premier, as well as within Support.Dell.com.  "Service Tag Summary" is a standard report template within the Purchase History report options.  Though limited to 1 calendar month, the Service Tag Summary results (as with all Purchase History reports) can be exported in Excel format.

For a larger search, with information such as your Customer Number, you can pull all service tags for up to the past five years in Support.Dell.com.

Regarding invoices, Premier Invoicing allows you to view and print certified electronic copies of your organization's invoices.  Under Quick Links->Reporting, you should see an option titled "Invoices".
If you do not see these reporting options, or if the information you need isn't included in the reports, please contact your Dell Sales Representative, who can enable theses reports for your page, and ensure that the appropriate customer numbers are setup.

Better Navigation and Better Options By jessterf,  Nov 10, 2009 Tue Nov 10 17:28:09 GMT 2009

I would hope that Dell realizes they have issues with the Premeir website and just overhaul it altogether. If that were to happen here is my list of want and demands. I still havent figured out what im holding for ransom though? You would think if they are selling to big business and gov they would put there best face forward, sorry to say I dont see it yet.
  1. I want to be able to login and once logged in have ONE! click access to any portion of the Premeir site. As it is now its like going through a maze.
  2. On the homepage I should be able to click ONE! button to access "My Order Status" listed by my Customer Account Number, if i have more than one Customer Account Number list them all with a button next to each that will list the order status of each Customer Account Number. As it is now I have to enter the Customer Account Number to access my orders after I hit two pages, that is too much.  It has "Click here to view orders associated with your My Account"  on the "My Premier" workspace page, but it doesnt pull up any info as if it doesnt know my Customer Account Number.
  3. The "Standards Configurations" page should be setup to drag and drop Standard Systems or products in a My Standard Systems Box, from a Standard Systems list Box. If there is additional details that the Dell Account Rep needs to configure it would not be active in the My Standard Systems Box until it is approved by the Dell Account Rep.
  4. I almost forgot to mention that once in the (dang it, i had to remember my customer account # again to hit the "My Order Status" page to get info to put in this post. I couldnt remember my own phone # if my wife didnt pin it to my shirt before I left for work, let alone a bunch of "Customer Account Numbers") "My Order Status" page there should be an option to label the different orders. You know a discription or a name colum that I can edit or add to or change as I see fit.
  5. Also in the same way as the Order Status why cant we have a ONE! click access to all of our quotes based on our customer number? We should also have a colum dedicated to label or describe the quote ourselves. One last thing is should the quotes and orders status be married together once the quote and Purchase Order are submitted for purchase, so I can ONE! click into the status page and see the status, po, quote and anything else associated with the order?

Well any ways thats all I have time for now but im sure i could think of a hole lot more given more time.

Order History By nking,  Jul 23, 2009 Thu Jul 23 13:39:59 GMT 2009

 Order history,
Well sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get my order history. When all i want to do is see my past i just can't seem to get  there. Lets make the program so when you click on order history it doesn't give you the run around for 20 minuites to get there, does not have to be that complicated.

Why can't we view all invoices instead of requiring a bunch of numbers to find By zzzzo,  Oct 6, 2009 Tue Oct 06 22:43:59 GMT 2009

Most companies will offer all invoice history with one click after loggging in. Why not make it that simple?! Stop wasting my time.

Speed, less clicks, history & more By Theresa,  Jun 4, 2009 Thu Jun 04 20:23:20 GMT 2009

There are several issues with the premier site. First, I've wasted several hours of my day trying to place a simple order because the site is too slow. Often times, it not only lags, but just freezes from attempting to load the page. The cart is often quite buggy as well, where my items are lost when I navigate to continue shopping in other categories. Also, why can't we download PDFs of our invoices without having to submit info and wait for email response. Overall there are just too many "clicks" to get to what I need and making it more streamlined process will help my productivity.

ADMIN NOTE - Thank you for your comments.  We have noticed a degredation of performance and stability and we have assembled a task to focus solely on improving the customer experience with several releases in the late summer 2009 timeframe.  We are also making changes to our content management system over a slightly longer period but the expectation is that we will be able to provide richer content aligned with our customers expectations.

That said, customers are not reporting performance issues to the degree that you're describing.  Should performance continue to be degraded as described, please contact our Premier Helpdesk (Premier@Dell.com, or 800-274-3355, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Central Time).

Regarding invoices, Premier Invoicing allows you to view and print certified electronic copies of your organization's invoices.  Under Quick Links->Reporting, you should see an option titled "Invoices".  If you do not see this option, or if the invoices you need aren't included in the report, please contact your Dell Sales Representative, who can enable the report for your page, and ensure that the appropriate customer numbers are setup.

Thank you again for using Premier and PremierStorm.

successful connections By mjm,  Apr 24, 2009 Fri Apr 24 13:29:57 GMT 2009

Is it possible during regular business hours (EST) to successfully access the Dell Premier Site and all its contents -- especially invoice and product pages?  Currently, whether Explorer or Firefox are used, and no matter the time of day (again business hours, not 2:00 am.) one is lucky if a connection is established and maintained 25% of the times attempted.  Ironic that Dell builds and sells servers and yet its own site is so quirky and unreliable.  Invoices are particularly difficult to access.  Also, must so many hoops be required to login to the Premier Site, and must the time-out be so rapid?   It's a pain getting into and staying in the Dell catalog.  CDWG's website would be a good example of where the Dell website needs to go.  It rarely crashes, has peppy response time, and no time-out once logged in for the day.

Finding account information By debs,  Aug 5, 2009 Wed Aug 05 19:39:04 GMT 2009

Trying to find information on the home page is ridiculous.  sometimes when I log in, I go right to my home page, which I have customized.  Other times it goes to the dell premier page and I can't gt to my home page.  the site is not consistent.  Trying to find order status, receive invoices etc... is only by blind luck that I stumble on iinformation.   Look at CDWG and see how easy it is to navigate.  When you log in, the pages are consistent, information is easy to find etc...

Sometimes I have quicklinks at the top and sometimes it is gone...  There is no consistency to the pages or the log in.  I have to go back out, go through the standard dell.com and pray for the best.

Make paying on account easier By zzzzo,  Oct 6, 2009 Tue Oct 06 22:40:22 GMT 2009

I have been trying to figure out where to pay on account. wasting a lot of time even on the phone with Dell employees who cannot answer the question! I small business like ours is super efficient just to keep the doors open on a daily basis. this website is much slower to get the job done than your competition.

Take a look at what other businesses do. The faster the checkout process the more money everyone makes. As few screens as possible and fewer clicks. I love the sites that remember as much as possible for me and make it easy and super fast.

I do like the Workspace that can be customized. Just found that today. That will help. It will be my Home Page from now on.
