Disruptive Site Maintenance By Clifford9999,  Oct 15, 2009 Thu Oct 15 20:35:10 GMT 2009

Please stop performing major site maintenance in the middle of the business day.  And if you must do this, send an email announcing this in advance and post a meaningful message about what's going on and when the system is expected to be available.  Every time there's a major catalog change, my standard configs and/or full catalog completely disappear from the website with no explanation or expected uptime.    It's been that way all day today.

10 things I hate about Premier and should have been fixed 4 years ago. By Robertm73,  Sep 30, 2009 Wed Sep 30 15:06:41 GMT 2009

1) Slowwww....I know other have said but this site is terrible.
2) Login -Slowwwww...Really come on.
3) Why are my custom links not shown on the home page?
4) Why can I not open a chat window to my sales team?  Or at least see if they are online.
5) Reporting- terrible and painful to use
6) when I click on support, it should have all my asset tag and should be filterable by Product type or order date.
7) why my premier not the home page?
8) why is the quoting system used by my rep differnt from the online order page?
9) when I buy a system it should be combined with other system to provided a comphremisve notifitation list of driver changes.
10) why is the whole account tema not on here? Where is my ASAP reps?

Would like to have the ability to Customize my own "Standard Configurations" category... By enoonmai,  Mar 25, 2009 Wed Mar 25 16:28:05 GMT 2009

I work for a municipality and as such I cater to many diverse departments, requiring their own unique System Configurations. Because of this I would find it VERY useful to be able to save a specific System Configuration to return to time and time again. I would like to ask for the ability to create my own Categories and then within these, have System  Configurations specific to the Categorie's requirements, for purchasing again at a later time.
For example: The Coroner's Departments requirements differ vastly from the Public Works Department. Makes sense, right?

Well this would make my job so much easier. I am doing my best to "Standardize" the hardware and software within each department and have to go back and put together these systems over and over again. This is a huge waste of time...and we all know that time equals money, right?

Thank you for this opportunity.

Enoonmai

ADMIN NOTE - Customer ability to customize Standard Configs is a current request, and is in evaluation for future development.  Your feedback will be included in the evaluation, along with any who vote for or comment on this idea.

A limited version of this idea is currently offered.  When configuring a System, options are "Review Summary", "Add to My Saved Items", or "Add To Cart".  Selecting "Add to My Saved Items allows you to save a customized config, but the limitation is that this will only allow you to save a configured system for 30 days.

If you do not see "Add to My Saved Items", please contact your Dell Sales representative, who can enable the Wish List/Saved Items feature within your Premier page.

Let me control standard configs... By aseverance,  Oct 1, 2009 Fri Oct 02 03:35:01 GMT 2009

As the hw asset manager for my organization it's up to me to determine who can buy what and when...But it's not, really.  I have find what I want, contact my sales person and wait for it to get added.

I have no problem going through my sales person if I'm looking to make a bulk purchase, want special pricing or have questions about a configuration but it should not be a three day process to add a mouse to my standard configs list so my desktop technicians can order it.

I would really like the ability to browse the ENTIRE dell catalog and add customized systems, peripherals and other components myself at our base-line pricing to our standard configs.  If and when I feel a need to engage my sales rep on better pricing I can do that.

From the experience I've had making simple changes is nearly impossible even with the sales rep involved.  Items go missing without warning.  When I ask for an item to be added (like say those swanky new u2410 monitors) it gets added in a different section with a different description than the other monitors I already have listed.

I frequently find myself having to go back into the system and compare my standard configs price vs our regular premier price and again vs the public price.  It should be a lot more straight forward and I don't really understand why it's so complicated.

Clean it up, speed it up.  Put me in control of my standard configurations and let my sales rep handle our special orders and requests.

Difficult to spec out Standard Configuration machines By BW,  Aug 5, 2009 Wed Aug 05 13:36:02 GMT 2009

Why is it so difficult to get standard personal computers spec'd out? When I spec one out and get the quote from the Dell rep, get the PO and send it in, only THEN do I get to see that the expected ship date is 3 weeks from today's date.  I can goto CDW and click "Add to Cart" on a $600 HP with all the trimmings, put in a credit card number, and voila! the computer arrives two days later.  And don't tell me I need to contact the sales rep to have him activate anything on the Standard Configuration page, did that in the past and now there are absolutely ZERO pc's listed on my Standard Configurations page.

Standardized Machines By timbash,  Mar 31, 2009 Tue Mar 31 14:44:42 GMT 2009

We nearly always need to buy computers in the same configuration (or very similar at least).  We should be able to have those saved as default machines on our premier page so we don't have to click numerous times to select all the different options we require..  And then have the ability to modify (if needed).  This would save us a lot of time and reduce the chance of mistakes that we have seen in the past.

ADMIN NOTE - This is current functionality - There are three product catalogs that can be enabled in your organization's Premier site: Systems, Software & Peripherals, and Standard Configurations.  Contact your Dell Sales representative to enable Standard Configurations, and to discuss the specific system, defaults, and upgrade/downgrade options you would like to see.

Make the n-series machines available through premier By james4765,  Jun 17, 2009 Wed Jun 17 18:50:03 GMT 2009

We sell a lot of Linux machines - both desktops and servers.  Although it is relatively simple to order a server with no OS or RHEL, ordering an Optiplex, Precision, or Vostro with pre-installed Linux is impossible to do through the Premier interface.  We have actually ordered through small business to get the n-series machines.

Although I know you may not want to offer every machine with no OS to the general public, those of us who do volume purchases would like to be able to buy them.  We have customers with retail copies of Windows and VLKs as well, and it's pointless to make them re-purchase a valid copy of Windows just because you can't order a machine with no OS license.

ADMIN NOTE:  We appreciate any and all feedback, and the opportunity to address issues that arise with your experience on Premier and other Dell websites.  However, we would ask that submissions for this particular forum be focused on ideas for feature and functionality requests within Premier.

Regarding product offerings, most all products offered in the Small Business site are available within Premier Systems Catalogs, including OptiPlex, Vostro and Precision Workstations offered with FreeDOS, Novell SUSE Linux Embedded, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Your Dell Account team owns the customization of your Premier page, may simply need to remove a filter to allow these products to display, or add your specified choices as Standard Configurations.

Thank you using PremierStorm.

Add to Favorites By towanda7,  Mar 17, 2009 Tue Mar 17 19:02:06 GMT 2009

I would like to see the ability to add items as favorites when I search by part number or just through keyword or menu searches.

There are many items I order on a frequent basis that I would rather not have appear on my Premier Home page, but I would also like to not have to search for them every single time I go to order them.  I would like the ability to get to those items easily without having to ask my rep to add them to the home page every time.  I use many other vendors for product purchasing, and most offer some kind of feature like this.

ADMIN NOTE - This is current functionality for customized Premier pages.  My Saved Items stores either systems that you have configured to your specs, or individual S&P items.  When configuring a System, options are "Review Summary", "Add to My Saved Items", or "Add To Cart".  For S&P items, select "More Details", then see "Add To Lists", where you can customize multiple Wish Lists of S&P items.  If you do not see "Add to My Saved Items", or "Add To Lists", please contact your Dell Sales representative, who can enable the Wish List/Saved Items feature within your Premier page.  This is available on customized Premeir sites, but not on Dell.com Premier stores, such as the Healthcare store on Dell.com.  However, this capability is in the early design/concept stages of development for a future date.
